On May 18, 2022, a delegation from DG REGIO, led by Aida Liha Matejicek Head of Unit at European Commission, together with representatives of AM POC (MIPE) and OIC (MCID), visited Extreme Light Infrastructure-Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP) at "Horia Hulubei" National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering.
During the discussions, the implementation stage of the ELI-NP project and the results of the first experiments with high power lasers were presented. The collaboration with ELI ERIC was discussed and the involvement in the H2020 IMPULSE project with the other two ELI pillars. The main problems facing the project were also addressed, and the representatives of DG REGIO assured the project management of full support for their solution and the successful completion of the project.
A tour of the main experimental areas of the ELI-NP research infrastructure was made.
