E5 Experimental Area

The E5 experimental area is devoted to laser-driven experiments with two 1 PW laser beams. The research is focused on the study of materials and biological systems in extreme environments using mixed radiation generated by the ultra-intense lasers. The modular configuration of the three vacuum chambers that encloses the laser beams will allow the study of laser plasma interactions, shocks generations and studies of X-ray sources for diagnostics and imaging applications.
