E8

E9 Experimental Area

The E9 experiemental area will be dedicated to neutron studies following photonuclear reactions, and beam diagnostics tools. The main physics goals for the ELIGANT - ELI Gamma Above Neutron Threshold setups will be basic nuclear structures of large amplitude collective motion, and cross-section measurements with applications for nuclear astrophysics, nuclear industry, and medicine.

Main Activities

Combined high-energy gamma and neutron detection
High-efficiency neutron counting
Charged particle detection
Neutron detector characterization
Beam parameter monitoring and control

Equipment

Array of 34 large-volume LaBr3:Ce and CeBr3 gamma ray detectors
