Scope of work:

The Construction Engineer will follow and comply with the maintenance plan in terms of operation of ELI-NP civil constructions, facilities, installations and equipment at the best technical parameters, and will ensure the maintenance of civil engineering works.

Main Responsabilities:

Gathering the required knowledge and enough experience to monitor the operation of civil constructions, facilities, installations and equipment

Providing technical support to scientific and engineering activities

Providing assistance and technical support throughout the exploitation phase to maintain the best performance of the ELI-NP systems

Main Tasks:

• Gets informed and knows the buildings, driveways and facilities inside the ELI-NP infrastructure
• Constantly monitors buildings, driveways and facilities inside the infrastructure, identifies deficiencies found and proposes remedial measures
• Finds deficiencies in the warranty period for the buildings, driveways and facilities inside the infrastructure and informs the line manager about them
• Performs operation checks and tests on the components of constructions, driveways and facilities assigned for monitoring
• Takes part in monitoring the way contractual obligations are fulfilled, as well as the relevant incidental regulations in the field, by the parties involved in the execution of works and services contracts, for which he/she is appointed contract responsible person
• Attends work meetings on how the maintenance and operation of the facility are being conducted, on how the construction works and the provision of services under the contracts for which he/she is responsible are being performed
• Takes part in drawing up the annual maintenance and operation plan
• Takes part in following up the way work safety and security regulations are applied by the parties involved in performing the works and services contracts he/she monitors as contract responsible person
• Recommends suitable measures and strategies to optimise the use of technology, human, and financial resources required for a sound operation of the ELI-NP facility
• Takes part in activities related to the safety of constructions and installations within ELI-NP
• Takes part in coordinating the activity of monitoring how the Facility behaves in time and is operated
• Takes part in the programme of monitoring subsidence, as part of the activity of monitoring how the facility behaves in time and is operated (monitors how the provider employed fulfils its contractual obligations and the incidental regulations in the field)
• Provides assistance in carrying out procurement procedures by drawing up technical specifications and technical evaluations of tenders
• Gets informed and knows the internal procedures of the institution and the good practices in the field of support services provision
• Writes the reports required by the internal procedures of the institutions and those requested by the line managers
• Takes part in implementing the technical and technological strategy of the ELI-NP project
• Provides technical assistance to equipment and systems providers for installation and integration in the related buildings.

Professional background:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering - Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in construction works execution and/or maintenance
• Basic knowledge for interpreting technological documentation and schematics;
• Sound technical knowledge in construction works;
• Knowledge of the English language;
• Teamwork experience and efficient communication and collaboration skills;
• Computer skills - MS Office; AUTOCAD.

Working arrangements/Conditions of employment:

• Full time position, based in Bucharest - Magurele, Romania .

• The candidate should be available to travel abroad for scientific collaboration at various research infrastructures, for part of their time.
