The IT Infrastructure Specialist's activity consists in providing advanced engineering, operating, and subject matter expertise for the general-purpose IT infrastructure of ELI-NP. The primary focus areas entail the identity management backend (Microsoft Active Directory), the collaborative platform (Microsoft Exchange, OWA), as well as related base services (DNS, DHCP, etc.) and/or applications. Furthermore, the IT Infrastructure Specialist will provide specialised support for the preparation and/or review of the technical documentation for IT equipment purchases within the ELI-NP IT Compartment
Main Responsabilities:
Main Tasks:
Produce and operate enterprise-level designs for the Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS roles
Produce and operate enterprise-level designs for an Microsoft Exchange-based collaborative platform
Install, configure, and maintain the Active Directory and Exchange (incl. OWA) structures and thirdparty software utilities for hardware systems within the operational guidelines of the Institute
Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for the services related to the aforementioned items
Serve as an escalation point for complex internal support and troubleshooting cases
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all underlying resources, systems and key processes, periodically reviewing system and application logs
Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation,
configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps
Provide knowledge transfer to colleagues as required
Effectively collaborate with cross-departmental teams and provide SME guidance/feedback
Be involved in providing advanced technical support for the infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking) offered by the ELI-NP IT Compartment
Professional background:
Higher education graduate, preferably with a Computers/Electronics/Informatics/Cybernetics diploma. If the diploma is in other field than the ones mentioned above, a Microsoft certification (e.g. MCSA) or minimum 5 years in similar position it is a must
Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, Exchange, OWAs
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, Windows security and related Microsoft technologies
Up-to-date knowledge of and practical experience with industry best practices and standards, both IT and security-oriented
Vendor certifications that apply to the aforementioned technologies and/or products are considered a plus
Solid general understanding of enterprise-level IT systems
Solid networking knowledge is considered a plus
Experience in interacting with vendors and solutions/technology providers
Good interpersonal skills, a strong team spirit and a result-oriented attitude, as well as a capability to deliver when working under tight deadlines
Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity
Fluent in English
