Laser Gamma Experiments Department


    Scope of work:
    • The ELI-NP Technicians will ensure the technical support for the equipment and the experiments during both the implementation and the operational phases of ELI-NP
    • In the operational phase, the technicians will participate to the upgrades and to the development of new experimental setups in Laser Gamma Experiments Department (LGED)
    Main Responsabilities:
    • Acquiring the necessary knowledge and getting sufficient expertise for the installation, maintenance and monitoring the functioning of the equipment
    • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities, for the preparation and development of the experimental setups
    • Providing assistance and technical support during the operational phase to maintain the best performance of the ELI-NP
    Main Tasks:
    • Installation, acceptance testing, maintenance, support and documentation of systems within Laser Gamma Experiments Department (LGED) related to Laser optics components, diagnostics of the laser pulse, alignment
    • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities
    • Ensuring efficient collaboration and dialogue between research staff and suppliers of equipment and various services
    • Actively and efficiently communicating within the ELI-NP team to promote a harmonious collaboration framework
    • Participating in maintaining the performances of the ELI-NP equipment and systems to the desired level
    • Actively participating in the technological development activities performed at ELINP
    • Providing specific technical support for the experiments
    Professional background:
    • High-school graduation diploma
    • Post high-school technical training in fields of interest for ELI-NP
    • Proven experience in providing technical support in the lasers/optics field within research and development laboratories or in technical departments of companies
    • Fluency in English
    • Proven teamwork experience, communication and efficient collaboration skills
    • Availability to travel and perform work stages abroad
    • Would be a plus:
    • Experience with optical systems in vacuum conditions
    • Previous experience with ultra-short pulse laser optics
    • Experience with electron beams and associated optics
    Working arrangements/Conditions of employment:
    • Full time position, based in Bucharest - Magurele, Romania .

    • The candidate should be available to travel abroad for scientific collaboration at various research infrastructures, for part of their time.
