X-ray Imaging Laboratory

    Scope of work:
  • The technician will ensure technical support for the equipment and the experiments during both the implementation and the operational phases of ELI-NP. In the operational phase, the technician will work with X-ray detectors and optics in the X-ray Imaging Laboratory (XIL) and he/she will assist physicists and engineers in developing plasma diagnostic setups and medical and industrial imaging applications. The technician will operate and monitor the special equipment used in the X-ray Imaging Laboratory
  • Main Responsabilities:
    • Acquiring the necessary knowledge and getting expertise for the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of X-ray detectors and X-ray optics
    • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities in the preparation and development of XIL experimental setups
    • Providing assistance and technical support during the operational phase of ELI-NP to maintain the best performance of XIL equipment
    • Main Tasks:
        • Installation, testing, support, and activity documentation of XIL equipment
        • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities
        • Ensuring efficient communication between research staff and suppliers of equipment and various services
        • Actively and efficiently communicating within the ELI-NP team to promote a harmonious collaboration framework
        • Participating in maintaining the performances of the ELI-NP equipment and systems at the highest level
        • Participating in the market research and writing specification for equipment purchase, communication with companies, installing, testing, and commissioning of the equipment needed in the XIL laboratory
        Professional background:
        • High-school graduation diploma
        • Fluency in English;
        • Proven teamwork experience, communication, and efficient collaboration skills
        • Basic knowledge in X-ray radiation and optics;
        • Adapting quickly to shifting priorities and requirements
        • Availability to travel and perform work stages abroad;
        • A structured and organized approach towards work
        • It would be a plus: -Basic knowledge in interferometry; -Experience with image processing - Matlab/IDL or similar software
        Working arrangements/Conditions of employment:
        • Part time position, based in Bucharest - Magurele, Romania .
