X-ray Imaging Laboratory

    Scope of work:
  • The technician will ensure technical support for the equipment and the experiments during the ELI-NP implementation and operational phases. In the operational phase, the technician will participate in the software maintenance and upgrades of existing setups and developing new arrangements in the X-ray Imaging Laboratory (XIL)
  • Main Responsabilities:
    • Acquiring the necessary knowledge and getting expertise for performing computer simulations of physical models
    • Acquiring the necessary knowledge and getting expertise for advanced image processing and tomographic reconstruction
    • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities for the preparation and development of the numerical simulation software and image processing
    • Providing assistance and technical support during the operational phase of ELI-NP to maintain the best performance of XIL equipment
    • Main Tasks:
        • Installation, maintenance, and support of software within XIL
        • Getting accustomed to scientific equipment and their specific software interfaces
        • Running numerical simulations either locally or in a distributed environment
        • Image processing and interferograms analysis
        • Providing technical support for scientific and engineering activities
        • Ensuring efficient communication between research staff and suppliers of equipment and various services
        • Actively and efficiently communicating within the ELI-NP team to promote a harmonious collaboration framework
        • Participating in maintaining the performances of the ELI-NP equipment and systems at the highest level
        • Participation in drafting technical documents, reports and software documentation
        Professional background:
        • High-school graduation diploma
        • Fluency in English
        • Proven teamwork experience, communication, and efficient collaboration skills
        • Basic knowledge in image processing and data analysis
        • Adapting quickly to shifting priorities and requirements
        • Availability to travel and perform work stages abroad;
        • A structured and organized approach towards work
        • It would be a plus: - Experience with programming in C++, Python; - Experience with image processing with Matlab/IDL or similar software;
        Working arrangements/Conditions of employment:
        • Part time position, based in Bucharest - Magurele, Romania .
