Overview

In 2019, the year when the Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP) laser system has reached its design parameters of 10 PW, the ELI-NP Summer School is dedicated to "Nuclear Physics with High Power Lasers".

ELI-NP, the Romanian pillar of the European project Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI), is being implemented in Măgurele, Romania, funded mostly from European Regional Development Funds as part of a Distributed Research Infrastructure, with the two other pillars, ELI-Beamlines and ELI-Attoseconds in Donli Brezany, Czech Republic, and Szeged, Hungary, respectively.

The ELI-NP Summer School 2019 will take place between 9 to 12 September 2019 in Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort situated 120 km North of Bucharest. The Summer school will end on Friday, 13 September, with a visit of the ELI-NP facility in Măgurele.

The School aims at introducing PhD students and young researchers to the novel research perspectives in the physics and applications of high-power lasers, covering the following topics:

All participants are encouraged to present their work in a poster (to be prepared in A0 format, portrait orientation) that will be exhibited for the duration of the summer school.

The organization of ELI-NP Summer School is supported by Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation, through the Contract 36PFE/2018.
