The School venue is Hotel Mara **** in Sinaia.
Sinaia, a year-round mountain resort in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains, is located about 130 km north of Bucharest, about 1.5 hours drive from the main international airport of Romania.
Sinaia is "the Pearl of the Carpathians", a prime tourist attraction and in close proximity to many first class natural and historical attractions of Romania. Extra activities, from visiting the Sinaia monastery and the Peles Castle (with its beautiful art collection or the open-air folklore exhibit and market), to dinning and wining at restaurants with live Romanian and international music, to mountain climbing, are all available within walking distance. Visits to old Transylvanian cities, like Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara, or to the Bran castle ("Dracula’s castle") and Poiana Brasov, are possible by car, bus or train.
Bus transfers will be made available free of charge at arrival and departure of most participants (see preliminary programme).

Most of the participants are accommodated in Hotel Mara, in single or double rooms at the following rates:
- Single room: 200 lei/night (about 42 Euro/night)
- Double room: 145 lei/night/person (about 30 Euro/night/person)
The beakfast is included in the room rates.
A place in a double room and all meals are included in the registration fee.
Accompanying persons will pay the room directly to the hotel at above rates if reservation is done through School organizers.
On Sunday, September 8th 2019, the organizers will provide bus
transportation from the Otopeni airport to Sinaia. The buses will depart
from the Otopeni airport at 15:30 and 18:30. Upon arrival at the airport,
participants should look for one of the local organizers who will hold a
sign << ELI-NP Summer School 2019 >>. The meeting point with the local
organizers is in front of the flower shop, on the right side after exiting
the sliding doors of the baggage claim area, up to 5 minutes before the
scheduled departure of the buses.
On Sunday, September 8th 2019, transportation to Sinaia from Magurele
and downtown Bucharest will be provided as well. There will be a bus
collecting school participants from Magurele (ELI-NP) at 14:00 and
Bucharest (Eroilor Metro station) at 14:30. All participants willing to
benefit of this transportation service will have to reach one of the two
locations at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure.
All the buses will display on the windshield a sign with the School's logo.
In the morning of Friday, September 13th 2019, transportation from Sinaia
to ELI-NP will be organized. After the visit, at about 16:00,
transportation to Otopeni airport and downtown Bucharest will be available.

Participants are kindly advised to check whether they need or not a visa when travelling to Romania.
