Innovation@ELI-NP praised at 4th of July Celebrations

ELI-NP had the honour to be invited to the 4th of July Celebrations at the US Embassy in Bucharest, alongside two other Romanian institutions, the Romanian History Museum and the Romanian Space Agency. In his anniversary speech, His Excellency American Ambassador Hans Klemm highlighted the importance of Romanian innovation, of which one of the most significant, Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics in Magurele. This year's Independence Day event also celebrated 50 years since the first trip to the moon by American astronaut Neil Armstrong and showcased American and Romanian scientific and technological innovation. ELI-NP had an exhibition stand beside the American Companies Bell and Motorola, which had an important role in NASA's space programme. ELI-NP's exhibition included a virtual reality system and was popular among the guests, including the Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, Romanian Finance Minister Eugen Orlando Teodorovici, Dan Barna (President of the Union Save Romania) and Raluca Turcanu (Vice-president of the National Liberal Party).
