    Scope of work:
  • The IT Infrastructure technician’s activity consists in supporting, testing and monitoring the IT server/backend side of the IT infrastructure of ELI-NP. The primary focus areas entail the server and identity management backend (MS Windows Server, MS Active Directory), the associated base services (DNS, DHCP, etc.) and/or applications, and the data storage and collaboration platforms. Furthermore, the IT Infrastructure technician will provide specialist support for the preparation and/or review of the technical documentation for IT equipment purchases within the ELI-NP IT Compartment
  • Main Responsabilities:
    Main Tasks:
    • Providing technical support for the infrastructure services (primarily compute and storage) offered by the ELI-NP IT group and of the related hardware/software elements
    • Taking an active part in the operation and maintenance of the core ELI-NP IT infrastructure
    • Perform basic daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all underlying resources, systems and key processes
    • Be involved in providing technical support for the infrastructure services (primarily compute, storage, identity management) offered by the ELI-NP IT Compartment
    Professional background:
    • High school graduate with baccalaureate diploma
    • Practical experience in and knowledge of the main tasks as described in the job profile above
    • Minimum 3 years overall IT experience with 2 years of experience working Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, DNS/DHCP
    • Experience with Microsoft-based Certificate Authorities and/or data storage and collaboration platforms (Storage Spaces, Exchange) represents a big plus
    • Solid general understanding of IT
    • Experience with Microsoft server- (Windows Server) and client- (Windows 7/8/10) systems and their components/technologies
    • Entry-level vendor certifications that apply to the aforementioned technologies and/or products are considered a plus
    • Familiarity with working in an environment that follows industry best practices, both networking- and security-oriented, is considered a plus
    • Good interpersonal skills, a strong team spirit and a result-oriented attitude, as well as a capability to deliver when working under tight deadlines
    • Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity
    • Fluent in English;
    Working arrangements/Conditions of employment:
    • Full time position, based in Bucharest - Magurele, Romania .

    • The candidate should be available to travel abroad for scientific collaboration at various research infrastructures, for part of their time.
