The VEGA system will generate pulsed, mixed radiation fields during beam operations. Measuring the radiation levels outside the accelerator bays is required for ensuring safe machine operation and managing personnel radiation doses.
The Radiation Monitoring Network was implemented at ELI-NP during April-December 2023. The system consists of eight radiation detection stations, designed to measure both photons and neutrons, located at specific points around the VEGA system.
