As part of the "A Day in Her Life" campaign organized by the National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men (ANES), Drd. Maria-Iulia Zai - member of the ELI-NP Target Laboratory - shared her experience as a woman working in the exciting but challenging field of scientific research.
Throughout the interview, Iulia provided candid insight into her academic background, her current professional pursuits, as well as her motivation for choosing to follow a career in the complex domain of solid-state physics.
She concluded that motivated and hard-working individuals will always prosper on their chosen path regardless of their gender, and that achieving one's dreams is only a question of applying oneself diligently to all of the tasks at hand, no matter how big or small.
To put it in Iulia's own words, "any obstacle we might encounter along the way is just another opportunity to present ourselves positively in the eyes of others."
