This week, between September 23rd and 27th, the annual "Lecture week" takes place in Bucharest, provided by four European guests scientists in Nuclear Photonics: Jan Psikal, Martin Jirka, Dario Lattuada and Tim Ziegler. After the "Lecture week" that took place in Darmstadt in November 2023, this is a new opportunity for PhD students within the project International Research Training Group IGK 2891- "Nuclear Photonics" networking with peers from other international research institutions.
The above-mentioned scientists have been invited to collaborate on common research activities and to promote the research on the projects. They are available for the junior researchers for questions and advice. Junior researchers contribute to the lecture week by short presentations on their projects, which then can be discussed in depth with the lecturer. Interaction between the junior researchers and the four lecturers further supports their international networking into the scientific community.
This event serves as part of the junior scientists' professional development and can bolster the personal interaction of them. It will also contribute to the networking of the junior scientist with their peers and help them build and maintain close contact among them.
The visit of the high officials included a tour of the ELI-NP research facility. They met with research groups and discussed the importance of state-of-the-art technology in advancing research in the field.
